3D Architectural Rendering

Interiors and exteriors, and 3D walk-through animations

3D Design and Architectural Visualization

For more than 35 years, I’ve been creating and designing across Canada and Japan — always guided by curiosity, craftsmanship, and a love for visual storytelling. Whether it’s a hand-carved wooden sign or a lifelike 3D architectural rendering, I approach each project with care and imagination.

The design process

I take the time to understand each client’s needs and goals, then work closely with them to bring ideas to life. From the first concept to the final details, I aim to make the process as creative and rewarding as the result.

Selected Works

Here are some examples of photorealistic interiors and exteriors. All images and videos were created by me, from the initial 3D concept CAD drawings, to the finished high-quality renderings. Many of these images depict the finished results of renovations to older houses, as well as the visualization of new buildings still in the design stage.

All images created with SketchUp Pro, and rendered in Twinmotion (unless specified otherwise).

About Dan

I’m originally from Vancouver Island on Canada’s west coast.
In my youth, I devoted several years to martial arts training, which eventually led me to Japan in the early 1990s to study karate, the language, and the culture.

My design roots trace back to Canada, where I worked on magazine and newspaper layouts, sign design and production, and a range of other visual design projects.
Over the years, I’ve built a diverse career at the intersection of language, technology, and design. I began as an in-house Japanese-to-English translator and technical writer at a Japanese software company, where I worked on localizing numerous Windows PC video games — translating and troubleshooting UI text and documentation. Alongside that, I designed client websites and created 3D computer graphics.

Later, I joined the Tokyo headquarters of Canon Inc., coordinating the production of English-language documentation for digital cameras and printers, including the translation and editing of user manuals, product guides, and hardware user interfaces.

My journey into architectural visualization (archviz) was initially to depict small construction projects of my own here in Japan. This led to visualizing before/after transformations of older houses for clients including architectural and real estate firms (still images and videos), as well as 3D visualization of new buildings still in the design stage.
